We love beautiful interiors at RUBY so we are obsessed with what the amazingly talented & stylish Milly Nolan, founder of Mildred&Co, has done with her new Mildred&Co Showroom in Auckland.
Launched ten months ago solely online, the designer wedding gift registry offering beautiful gifts for the home and beyond, has gone from strength to strength since it's inception. We had a chat to Milly to find out more about her new showroom and her RUBY & Liam spring 2013 picks....
How did Mildred&Co come about?
After attending so many friend's weddings, I realized that there was a gap in the market in NZ for an online wedding gift registry that sold everything you could imagine for the home, and one which placed an emphasis on beautiful, modern and unique gifts - not just your traditional items. After all, no one needs a hundred platters! Once I got the idea in my head, it was too hard to ignore so I gave up my job as a Beauty Editor and took the plunge!
Tell us a bit about the new Mildred&Co showroom....
The Mildred&Co showroom is an amazing new space which couples can visit to see all the gifts on offer (so that they can create their dream wish-list) as well as a place for the public to hire for any occasion. It used to be a mechanics workshop but has gone through a major transformation to look like it does today! It has an internal courtyard which is like a secret garden in the middle of the city!
What are your picks from our RUBY & Liam spring/summer 2013 collections?
It was so hard only picking two favourite items out of the RUBY and Liam SS13 collections as I love it all, but one of my favourite Liam pieces is the Shundar Dancing Top - I love the sheerness of it but also the floaty shape. For RUBY it would have to be the Miles Mini Dress in the check. I love the cut and print, and the way that you could wear it casual or dressy and it would still look great.
