How long does it take to have my Celebrations price made?

The Celebrations process takes approximately 8 weeks from the payment of your deposit.

What happens at my consultation?

You will meet with our Celebrations Manager and Patternmaker at our Auckland showroom to talk about your perfect piece and the details of your special moment. They will take you through the styles, colours and fabrics that we have available. They will also take your measurements and talk with you about any other details specific to your occasion. Our consultations are usually one hour long and are complimentary if you book a time between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. If you’re unable to make it within these hours, we can work with you to find a suitable time, however there will be an additional fee.

How many fittings are usually required?

Two. After the initial consultation the first fitting will take place and you will try on your piece. The second fitting, and final, fitting will be where you try on your finished piece. If you are travelling to Auckland, the first fitting is the most important one to attend so that we can make sure all of your measurements are taken correctly. Fittings take up to one hour.

Where are the pieces made?

All of our Made-to-Measure Celebrations pieces are designed in house, at our Auckland Head Office. All pieces are made in New Zealand by expert seamstresses.

How soon before my special moment should I get in touch?

Early is best! The more time that we have to discuss options and plan consultations, the more time that we will have to create the perfect piece for you. If you are based outside of Auckland and want to book in consultations ahead of time, we are more than happy to organise this.

Are the pieces available in different colours and fabrics?

The available colours and fabrics are generally listed in the product description on our website, but it is always a good idea to check whether there are other options available. Get in touch via our website to ask about other specialty fabrics we may currently have in stock.

Can I try on the pieces before ordering?

All of our samples are made in a size 8 and as we make everything for you, we do not carry samples in other sizes. On request we can make a prototype of the style to test the fit before making the actual garment. An additional fee will be charged.

Can I supply my own fabric?

The range of fabrics we offer have undergone performance testing, so that we know that they will work with the styles that we offer. This means that you are not able to supply your own fabric.

How does it work if I’m not based in Auckland?

If you’re ordering from outside of Auckland, we are happy for you to pop into one of our nine RUBY stores nationwide to have your measurements taken by one of our trained staff, or at a local tailor or seamstress. We do not provide fittings in store as these take place at our Auckland showroom. If you cannot make it to our showroom in Auckland for a fitting, you can arrange a fitting yourself at your local tailor or seamstress. This will be at your own cost.

How does the process work if I’m ordering from overseas?

If you don’t live in New Zealand but want to place an order with us, the good news is that you can. The process is very similar, excluding the face to face consultations and that all measurements, hemming and adjustments are made by a tailor or seamstress nearest to you. This will be at your own cost. We will ship your piece directly to you via DHL. You are liable for any international import duties, customs & local sales taxes levied by the country you are shipping to.

Do I get loyalty points with my Made-to-Measure purchases?

Yes, loyalty points work the same for Celebrations as they do for any other RUBY or Liam purchase in store or online. If you do not have a loyalty account, we can create one for you and add your points to your account after the final payment has been made.

Can you cater to different price points?

Yes, depending on what piece you’re after. We have a vast range of fabrics to cater to a variety of budgets. Please do let us know your budget and we will guide you from there.

Can I order a custom garment from the current in-store range?

We are able to custom make in store styles for you excluding technical garments like rainwear or knitwear. The cost of a custom made piece is generally around $200 more than the RRP.

Do you have accessories to match?

We have our RUBY & Liam accessories in our showroom which you are welcome to browse and try on with your piece.
