Ruby Art Class
A stroke of dazzle and a splash of boldness: Art Class is in session. For RUBY autumn/winter 2019, Creative Director Deanna Didovich colours outside the lines. Inspired by the 70’s, this narrative is one of retro exuberance – Art Class is a post-modern wardrobe with artistic flair.
A palette of plush textures, eye-catching prints and hallucinogenic colours, this is a step forward from mid-century modernism. Moody florals blend alongside an emerald velvet; abstract prints clash with leopard faux fur.
Doubling down on the eclectic with the dazzle of spontaneity, Art Class paints a new picture of cool.
For a lesson in accent colours, take note: this season brings boldness in rich hues of cobalt blue, grape, vermillion and emerald. From wide-leg pants to wrap dresses, cowl-back gowns to midi-skirts, the silhouettes are languid and the results are graphic.
A little eclectic and a little unexpected, Art Class teaches you the art of clashing. The abstract, painterly-like Lee print brings a cool ease in a wrap dress and ruched mini-skirt, juxtaposed against sweet hearts of the green Winona print in a high-waist short. For something a little darker, the ochre florals of the Sissy print are a moody offering in a peasant blouse, maxi dress and ruffle mini-dress. Add a little texture with the velvet Dionne floral in a sleeveless gown and blouse, and you’re well on your way to an artwork of your own.
Keep warm this season in outerwear to suit any aspiring artist – the Clement coat in cream is a classic, tailored look, while the King coat returns in stand-out vermillion and grey marle. Add a little sportiness to your palette with the Prince puffer jacket, or for a little glamour, cosy up in the Leopard faux fur coat – perfect for all your bougie excursions.
Bold, cool and completely right, Art Class with RUBY will have you breezing through with flying colours.
