you know that feeling when you look at a map and you can’t work out which way is the correct way up to correlate with where you are standing? that’s kind of how i feel right now. just when i think that i’ve got it sorted i realise i need to rotate another 90 degrees. it’s disorientating!

but it’s the reality. and it’s better to acknowledge and respond to the real than get lost in a jumbled fiction. i’m in auckland, and it’s amazing how quickly i had forgotten the feeling of what being in level 3 means. but now here i am, i have my red lipstick on and it’s like nothing else ever existed.

i do however want to acknowledge those for whom lockdown was particularly difficult last time. i can imagine that this shift will be upsetting x

a friend has recently got me very into bullet points to relay information so here’s a lil list from moi about what the recent developments mean for us at RUBY:

  • our online store is fully operational ;-)

  • our head office team will be largely working from home so this morning has seen us lugging around sample lengths of fabric, pins, pattern paper, pens, sketches etc to get ourselves set up

  • auckland stores are now closed to the public, however our team will be in there processing click&collect and call&collect orders. anyone going in to collect purchases from our stores must sign in to the government’s covid tracer app

  • hamilton, wellington and christchurch’s stores are open

a reminder to all of you who interact with us IRL that you must adhere to our RUBY bubble agreement below.

LEVEL 3 BUBBLE AGREEMENT

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

  • We will be strictly following all hygiene guidelines from the Ministry of Health including routinely washing our hands and cleaning all surfaces throughout the day.

  • We will be practicing physical distancing by staying at least 1 metre away from other staff members and 2 metres away from our customers at all times.

  • All team members will be wearing a mask while at work.

  • We will not be opening any of our RUBY stores or Head Office for customers at Alert Level 3.

  • All Click & Collect order collections will be contactless and made outside of our shop fronts.

  • All Click & Collect customers, courier drivers and our team must sign in using the government tracing app.

HERE'S WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

  • When collecting your Click & Collect order, please remain at least 2 metres away from all of our staff members and any other RUBY customer collecting their order at all times.

  • Please register your Click & Collect visit using the government tracing app.

  • Please do not collect your Click & Collect order from any of our RUBY stores if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: Cough; Sore throat; Runny nose; Sneezing; Shortness of breath; Fever; Body aches; Loss of smell; Headache

LEVEL 2 BUBBLE AGREEMENT

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

  • We are strictly following all hygiene guidelines from the Ministry of Health including routinely washing our hands and cleaning all surfaces throughout the day.

  • We are keeping a 2 metre distance between customers and 1 metre between staff members at all times.

  • Our stores are open to our customers at Alert Level 2 however, only a limited number of customers will be allowed inside at one time to ensure physical distancing of 1 metre. This number is dependent on the size of each store and can be found at the bottom of this agreement.

  • We encourage all customers, courier drivers and our team to sign in using the government tracing app.

  • We are providing hand sanitiser for our customers to use when entering a RUBY store and when purchasing their items.

  • We are not allowing jewellery to be tried on.

  • We are not accepting payments using cash.

  • We are thoroughly cleaning our counter and EFTPOS machines after each customer has made a purchase. Please use payWave where possible.

  • We have limited the amount of fitting rooms that are open in each store. The number of fitting rooms that are open is dependent on the size of each store. All fitting rooms are being thoroughly cleaned before any customer enters. The fitting rooms that are open will have the curtain pulled open.

  • Please do not enter any of our RUBY stores if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: Cough; Sore throat; Runny nose; Sneezing; Shortness of breath; Fever; Body aches; Loss of smell; Headache

  • When lining up to enter and when inside any of our RUBY stores, please ensure that you remain 2 metres away from any other RUBY customer and our team at all times.
